You’re not alone if you’ve ever been envious of a truly unique bike. Whether you enjoy looking through motorcycle magazines or attending events that unite unique bikes from around the country, we’re willing to bet that you’ve got a few customizations on your to-do list. In parts one and two of this multi-part series, we provided you with a few ideas for customizing your bike. In today’s post, we’ll continue to provide you with innovative and unique ideas for motorcycle customizations.
If you’re ready to get started on a customization project, stop by RC Components’ online store when you’ve finished reading this post! We carry custom motorcycle wheels, exhaust pipes, and other products designed for your favorite motorcycle brands, including Indian, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Victory.
Air Induction
An air induction kit is one of the best ways to improve your bike’s performance. While a performance air filter will improve your bike’s power and throttle response, a full air induction kit will deliver exceptional fuel efficiency and combustion. Before you decide to invest in a new air induction system, you may want to check with your insurance company to see if your premium will increase because of this modification. Some insurance companies require motorcycle riders to declare performance modifications, and in some cases, failing to disclose a modification can void your policy.
New Bulbs
If you bought your bike from a traditional retailer, then your bike probably came with standard halogen bulbs. While halogen bulbs are certainly nothing to scoff at, better options are available. For instance, high-intensity discharge lights, or HIDs, produce a vibrant and intense light that will simultaneously make your bike more visible to other motorists and provide you with better nighttime vision.
Stereo System
Your motorcycle is probably loud, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the radio or your favorite tunes while you ride. There are several stereo systems available for motorcycles that feature crisp speakers and booming subs, making those long summer rides even more enjoyable.
New Helmet
While this isn’t technically a way of a customizing your bike, it’s always worth noting that a good helmet is the most important motorcycle investment you’ll make. Whether your current helmet is becoming old and worn down or you’re wanting to invest in better protective gear, a new helmet is never a bad idea. In our last blog, we mentioned that a custom paint job is one of the best ways to customize your bike, and a new helmet is a great way to match your outfit to your bike. If you’re feeling particularly creative, you can even spring for a custom paint job on your new helmet that perfectly matches your motorcycle.
